Remarks: The Wellesley Index covers articles on literature, culture, politics, religion, economics, art, science, archaeology and philosophy from printed British sources of the Victorian period (1824-1900). It is a major source for research in women's writing, including details of about 1500 Victorian women writers. Although of prime interest to those studying literature, history, and the Victorian era, the Wellesley Index would be useful for the study of any 19th century topic. The State Library of Victoria holds many of the titles indexed by the Wellesley Index.
